Record the original with the Clerk of Superior Court of the county where the property is located.
Georgia intangible recording tax is due when a security deed is recorded.
Pair it with a signed Promissory Note. Consumer and residential loans have additional rules; talk to an attorney.
When a Georgia security deed is paid off, the holder signs this cancellation so the Clerk can cancel it of record. Private lenders and family loans often need it.
A promissory note is a written promise to repay a loan, with the amount, interest rate and payment schedule. It is useful for loans between family members, friends or businesses. Notarizing the borrower’s signature makes it much harder to dispute later.
