Prepare
Straightforward process
Bring valid ID
Every signer needs identification that is valid under applicable state law.
Check before signing
Leave documents unsigned when a witnessed signature is required. Ask us first if you have already signed.
Witnesses
If your document needs personal witnesses, contact us first so we can discuss witness requirements.
Fees are set by state rules, plus a travel fee that we quote before scheduling. A notary cannot give legal advice or draft your documents.
Questions
Does every document need to be notarized?
No. Only some documents require it, and requirements depend on the document, the receiving party and applicable state law. Ask whoever requested the document what they need.
Does notarizing my will replace witnesses?
No. Will and witness rules vary by state, and notarization does not replace required witnesses. If your document needs personal witnesses, contact us ahead of time to discuss witness requirements.
Can you give legal advice or draft documents?
No. A notary verifies identity and witnesses signatures. For legal questions, please consult an attorney.
What does it cost?
Notary fees follow the rules of the state where the notarization happens, plus a quoted travel fee. We confirm availability, timing and the full quote for your location before scheduling.
How fast can someone arrive?
It depends on your location and local notary availability. We do not guarantee nationwide same-day or one-hour arrival. We confirm timing when you call.
Is an apostille a notarization?
No. An apostille is a separate, related service issued by a government authority for use abroad. See our apostille page for details.
